Job Summary:
Candidates particularly interested in outreach will have the opportunity to lead a heightened initiative to educate first responder groups such as CareFlight helicopter teams, EMTs, fire departments, and rural health systems on how to be prepared before a disaster occurs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicant must have completed an accredited surgical residency program and a fellowship in trauma/critical care, and have interest and experience in scholarly activity. Board certification or eligibility for certification in general surgery and surgical critical care is required. Licensable to practice medicine in the state of Ohio.

Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will join a group of seven surgeons based at Miami Valley Hospital, a 735-bed, ACS verified Level I Trauma Center with over 3,500 trauma patient admissions per year.

Essential Functions:
Primary responsibilities include resident and medical student education, surgical and critical care of trauma patients, elective and emergency general surgery patients, along with research. The trauma program is supported by thirteen advanced practitioners, in house radiology and interventional radiology, an attached inpatient rehabilitation facility, and subspecialty support including plastics, maxillofacial, ob-gyn, and anesthesiology.
